About In Vitro Fertilisation

In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF), also known as IVF, refers to a technique in which sperm and eggs are fertilised in an artificially controlled environment outside the body. In simple terms, one or more eggs are detached from the mother’s uterus and allowed to unite with the father’s sperm, and the successfully united embryos are transferred to the uterus of the assisted reproduction volunteer.
Participants may be required to use fertility drug treatments to stimulate egg production, which in turn increases the success rate of conception, before undergoing in vitro fertilisation. Once the eggs are ready, they are transferred from the mother’s ovaries to a safe, sterile location where they are incubated with the father’s sperm.
During this time of incubation, the doctor monitors the growth of the embryos at all times until they are transferred into the womb of the mother or the assisted reproduction provider.

  Indications for IVF
